The Kiama Coast Walk is an amazing 22km stretch along some of the most spectacular coastline in NSW. It can be broken down into different sections if your not that keen on tackling the walk in one hit. The Kiama Coast walk is a mix of sealed paths, beaches and grass tracks. Along this walk you’ll experience rivers, beaches, bays, cliffs, basalts and blow holes.

The walk runs parallel’ish to the train line.  The train stations are, Minnamurra, Bombo, Kiama and Gerringong. This makes it easy to do a section then train it back to the car. Or you could also get a taxi if your too buggered to get the train back.

Below is a list of popular sections of the Kiama Coast Walk:

Section 1 is from Minnamurra River to the Blow Hole at Kiama. This is around 9km.

Section 2 is from the Blow Hole at Kiama to Loves Bay, around 5km.

Section 3 is from Loves Bay to Gerringong, 7km.

Ideally you’d do the Kiama Coastal walk in 2 sections. The first from Minnamurra to the Kiama blowhole. The next section was from the Kiama blow hole to Gerringong.

    A couple of tips:

When doing the section from Minnamurra to Kiama, walk along Jones and Bombo beaches to avoid some of the pavement bashing. When you spot Jones beach head down to the rocks and make your way to the sand. If you miss this turn there is a sign further down saying Jones Beach. Just take this entrance. Walk right to the end of Jones Beach to get some magnificent shots of Cathedral Rocks. Make your way back towards the playground on Jones Beach and rejoin the track.

When you get to Bombo Beach just walk along the sand. It’s much more enjoyable then heading back along the road to Kiama. At the end of Bombo Beach either head towards to the car-park to rejoin the walk or if the tide is right you can walk around the cliff along the rocks to Kiama. Either way is excellent as going the car-park route offers great views of Bombo Beach. While working your way around the cliff along the rocks is also extremely scenic.

This walk is amazing as there is so much to see. I highly recommend it.
