Difficulty: Medium most of the walk. Hard to waterfall.

  • Box Vale Walking Track, Mittagong

    I went to the Box Vale track in Mittagong only to find that it was closed on the 23/09/2016. The postage didn’t say when it would be operational again. I’ll keep an eye out as it looks like a cool track to do. The track follows the historic railway and you go through an 84 metre tunnel. From what I’ve read there is also an excellent lookout at the end and a side track to a waterfall.

    Directions to Box Vale Walking Track. 

    Google Maps Link. To get there drive down the Hume Hwy from Sydney and take the Mittagong turn off. Drive through Mittagong along the old Hume Hwy. Turn onto Boxvale Road and the start of the track is only about 100-200 metres down the road. There is an old Box Vale Walking track sign. You can drive down the gravel road for a short distance to the carpark. Google maps shows the location as Boxvale Rd, Woodlands.
