Mount Bass, Royal National Park
The Mount Bass fire trail is fairly average and only 5km return. It’s not all that well maintained with plenty of button grass to go through and dead wood all over the place. If you get up on your tippy toes at the start of the tack you can get an ok view of the Royal National Park. At the end of the trail near the Winifred Falls and Anice Falls track that the trail starts to improve. You get some really nice forest to go through but it’s all way too short. If you were to combine this ride with Little Marley it maybe worth while doing.
One good thing to come out of the mountain bike ride was seeing the Winifred falls and Anice Falls track. After seeing that I’m now very keen to go on a bushwalk and explore that part of the Royal National Park. I only saw a bit of that trail but it looked realy worth while doing. That trail close close to the South West Arm Creek, an off-shot of the Hacking River. I’ve often Kayaked down there and that part of the Royal National Park is worth seeing.
