Woronora Dam Mountain Bike Ride
Peddling along the Woronora Pipeline track is a very scenic way to reach Woronora Dam. The trail isn’t all that technical, however there are some extremely steep hills. Run your cursor on the map below to following the gradient of the hills you’ll be encountering. So before leaving home make sure those brakes are in good working order.
There’s a few stops along the way to check out some water holes. It’s a good idea to take a chain so you can attach your bike to a tree and go for a trek and have a look. Banya Pool, Mirang Pools, and Lake Eckersley are a few of the sights to see.
Once you reach the Woronora Dam there are about 20 BBQ’s and a nice park to relax in. So throw a few snags on the BBQ, have some lunch and mountain bike trek back.
A good entry point is to drive to the end of Forum Drive in Heathcote. You’ll see a trail at the end of the street. Ride a short distance, around 100-200 meters and there will be a goat track on the right. Head down the goat track. Should only take around 15 minutes and your on the Pipeline ride. Or you could start at the trail head on Heathcote road. See the map before for details. Enjoy the day.
